Cross Country Hosts 4th Annual Invitational

Oct. 7 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The women's cross country team of Carnegie Mellon hosted its 4th Annual Cross Country Invitational Saturday, October 7. The women finished second out of 15 teams in the 8k race.

Senior Jocelyn Sikora (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) once again led the Tarans as she finished in fifth place with a time 23:27.60. Sikora was the first Division III runner to cross the finish line. Senior KJ Helmstetter (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) finished in 23:52.32 and took ninth place. Also making the top 20 runners was senior Carrie Mallozzi (Trumbull, Conn.) who finished 18th (24:48.65) and Tartans freshman Carolyn Clayton (Northampton, Mass.) who place 20th with a time of 24:56.07.

The Tartan runners will be in action again on Saturday, October 15 when they travele to the Waynesburg Invite. The women's race starts at 11:15 a.m.
