Cross Country Finishes 4th at Behrend Invite

Sept. 17 - (ERIE, Pa.) – The women's cross country team of Carnegie Mellon finished fourth out of 14 teams at the Penn State Behrend Invitational on September 17. Only Case Western, University of Rochester and Mt. Union finished ahead of the Tartans who totaled 89 points on the day.

Seniors Jocelyn Sikora (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) and KJ Helmstetter (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) led the way for the Tartans finishing in the top 10. Sikora secured a third place finish with a time of 19:20, while Helmstetter finished eighth in a time of 19:52.

Freshman Carolyn Clayton (Northampton, Mass.) finished with her first top 25 finish of 2005 crossing the line 25th in a time of 20:40.

The Tartan runners will be travel to Dickinson College on Saturday, October 1 for a 10:30 race start.
