Alauna Peterson

Head Cheerleading Coach 

Alauna Peterson is in her third year as head cheerleading coach at Carnegie Mellon. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Her experience includes high school and collegiate cheerleading, cheer and dance camp instruction, choreography, and cheer and dance uniform design. Alauna is looking forward to continuing work with the team for the coming year.

"Our focus will still be on crowd involvement and athleticism, while maintaining our clean, collegiate style. We really excelled this year and the team was strong and consistent. Our basketball routine was exciting for both the team and the crowd. Next year, I’d love to continue working on difficulty in stunting and add tumbling and a few additional sideline dances."

Alauna currently works in the Student Development Office at Carnegie Mellon.
