Men’s Track & Field Compete at Allegheny Invite

May 9 – (MEADVILLE, Pa.) – A handful of members on the Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team extended their seasons by competing at the Allegheny Invite on Friday, May 9. The Tartans performed well against solid competition at the unscored meet.
Sophomore
Chris Bridgman (Casselberry, Fla./Lyman) bettered his school record in the pole vault with a vault of 4.58 meters and a second place finish. Sophomore
Dario Donatelli (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) set a personal best as he won the 10,000 meters in 31:07.19 and freshman J.P. Allera (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) also set a personal best of 31:41.64 en route to placing second in the race. Senior
Mike Reggie (Columbus, Ohio/St. Charles Prep) also set a personal best in the hammer throw with a throw of 50.56 m, placing fourth overall.
Senior
Eric Tang (Alhambra, Calif./Dunn School) came closer to breaking the school record in the triple jump as he set a personal best with a jump of 13.93 meters (third overall). Tang also won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.14 seconds. Junior
Brian Harvey (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) set a season best of 14:41.93 in the 5000 meters, narrowly missing his personal best and school record time as he finished eighth. Senior
Scott Fortune (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) placed third in the 800 meters in 1:55.59.
Jjunior
Craig Hahn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) raced in both the 400 meter hurdles (57.04 seconds) and the 110 meter high hurdles (16.61 seconds) and finished eighth and ninth, respectively. Junior
Chris Fornataro (Ellwood City, Pa./Riverside) placed 15th in the hammer throw (41.14 meters) and freshman
Nate Bussiere (Canton, Conn.) raced in the 1500 meters (4:06.25) and placed 25th.
Some athletes will compete on Tuesday, May 13 at the Tuppeney Classic hosted by Swarthmore College.
