Two Men’s Track and Field Runners Head to NCAA Championships
May 21 – (INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – Two members of the Carnegie Mellon men’s track & field team received an invite to compete at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Division III Track and Field Championships held May 24-26 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on the campus of UW-Oshkosh. Sophomore
Brian Harvey (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and senior
Davey Quinn (Glen Ellyn, Ill./St. Francis Prep) will be representing the Tartans in the 1500 meter race.
Harvey received his bid last week as he ran a personal best time of 3:50.15 receiving the automatic qualifying mark. On Friday evening, Quinn became the Tartans second runner to qualify, as he also ran a personal best time crossing the finish line in 3:50.60 at the Gregory Invitational at North Central College. Quinn’s time hit the automatic mark exactly.
Both runners will compete Thursday at 4:15 p.m. CT in the trails with the finals set for Saturday, May 26 at 1:20 p.m. CT.
