Men’s Track and Field Opens Indoor Season at Denison

Jan. 20 – (GRANVILLE, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon men’s track and field team opened up their indoor season on Saturday, January 20 by traveling to compete in the three team Denison University Invite. The unscored meet consisted of the Tartans, Denison University and Kenyon College.

The Tartans won eight events in the meet with sophomore Brian Harvey (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) winning two events. Harvey won the mile run with a time of 4:22.45 and also the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:54.30.

Junior Kiley Williams (Washington, D.C./Randolph-Macon) won the 200 meters in 23:52 and senior Eric Tang (Los Angeles, Calif./Dunn) won the men’s long jump with a distance of 20’07.00. Freshman James Hulley (Northampton, Mass.) won the shot put with a distance of 43’09.00 and senior Rory Kaclik (Freedom, Pa.) won the weight throw with a distance of 38’08.00.

The Tartans also won the 4x200 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. The Carnegie Mellon men’s track and field team will next be in action on Saturday, January 27 when they compete at Case Western Reserve University.
