Matta Receives UAA Recognition

Apr. 18 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Carnegie Mellon University senior Tom Matta (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Slippery Rock Invitational this past Saturday, April 15.

Matta posted top ten performances against NCAA Division I, II, and III competitors over the weekend. He registered the top throw of the season in the UAA finishing third with a distance of 50.19 meters in the hammer throw. Matta also finished seventh in the shot put, throwing his top distance of the season with a mark of 13.99 meters.
