#14 Tartans Fall to #23 Kenyon on the Road

Feb. 23 – (GAMBIER, Ohio) – The Tartans #14 men's tennis team traveled to #23 Kenyon for a dual match on Saturday, February 23 and fell in a well contested match 8-1. The Tartans are now 6-2 for the year while Kenyon improves to 7-0.

Freshman Alex Nemerov (Lake Forest, Ill.) was the lone Tartan to win a match on Saturday as he topped Greg Sussman in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. Three other singles matches went to three sets as senior Andrew Clearfield (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna) fell in the three slot 6-3, 6-7, 7-5, sophomore Jon Spero (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) fell 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 in the number four spot and freshman Bobby MacTaggart (Boonton, N.J./Newark Academy) got tripped up 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 in the five slot.

Doubles action was a sight to see as well as MacTaggart and sophomore Ravi Raghavan (Saratoga, Calif.) fell by one in the number two spot and junior Yiran Liu (Rockville, Md./Wootton) and Nemerov fell 8-6 in the number three slot. 

The Tartans continue action on Saturday, March 1 which a match against Case Western Reserve University at Oberlin College.
