#17 Men's Tennis Wins GLCA Tournament

Apr. 12 – (GAMBIER, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked seventeenth nationally, competed in the second day of the Great Lakes Colleges Association Men's Tennis Tournament Saturday, April 12.  The Cardinal and Gray advanced to the finals where they faced #7 Kenyon College and came away with a 5-4 victory claiming the 2008 GLCA Championship.  The Tartans improve to 16-6 overall.

The Tartans defeated Wabash College 5-2 Friday night to advance to play #14 DePauw University Saturday in the semifinals.  The Tartans fell behind 2-1 after double play, but got wins at second, third, fourth and sixth singles to claim a 5-4 victory.  In the championship match Carnegie Mellon topped Kenyon 5-4 handing the Lords their first loss of the season, as they move to 15-1.
