Powell Earns National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week

Nov. 8 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) Carnegie Mellon University senior swimmer Evan Powell (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earned National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week (NCSW) honors for his performance at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational November 5-6.

Powell led the Tartans to a third place finish at their annual invitational finishing behind Emory and Johns Hopkins. He had three first place and one second place finishes. Powell won the 100 Free (46.90) and second in the 50 Free (21.73). Powell anchored the 200 Free Relay (split 20.93) in a come from behind victory to nip Emory. Powell ended the meet anchoring the winning 400 Free Relay (3:09.70, split 46.55).
