Feb. 11 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University Director of Athletics Susan Bassett has announced that men’s head soccer coach Nick Gaudioso is retiring after 27 years at the helm of the Tartans.  Bassett has released the following statement:

“Coach Gaudioso has requested that we announce his decision to retire from coaching after 27 years at the University.  We are grateful for Mr. Gaudioso’s years of dedicated service and congratulate him on his many achievements, including most notably, five UAA Championships, six consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, and four coach of the year awards,” said Bassett.

“We join Coach Gaudioso’s current and former team members and their families in wishing Nick and his family well.  As a continuing member of the Carnegie Mellon community, we expect that he will be in the stands cheering on and inspiring the University’s soccer team as it builds on the strong foundation and many successes that he helped them to achieve.  Plans are underway to celebrate Coach Gaudioso’s career.  We will provide further details in the coming weeks.”
