Golf Places Third at Peter Rossin Memorial

Apr. 28 – (CANONSBURG, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team ended their season with a third place team showing at the Peter Rossin Memorial Tournament hosted by Washington & Jefferson College. The two day tournament was played at Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, Pa., as the Tartans carded a team score of 649
Huntingdon College won the tournament with a two day score of 605 followed by the host, Washington & Jefferson, with a 628.
Sophomore
Chris Lee (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) was the Tartans top individual finisher placing tied for seventh with rounds of 81 and 77 for a 158 total. Junior
Joshua Chen (Woodridge, Conn./Amity) and senior
Howard Smith (Las Vegas, Nev./The Meadows School) were the next two finishers for the Cardinal Gray. Chen carded a 162 (77-85) placing tied for 14th and Smith fired a 163 (82-81) placing 16th.
Junior
Alex Timmons (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) and sophomore
Brett Cannaday (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) complete the Tartans scoring with a 170 (90-80) and 171 (88-83), respectively.
Senior
Denver Faulk (Latrobe, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) entered the tournament as an individual and shot a two day total 185 (90-95).
