Golf Wins Titan Invitational

Mar. 31 – (NEW CASTLE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon men's golf team defended their team championship at the 2007 Titan Invitational hosted by Westminster College at the New Castle Country Club Monday afternoon, March 31. The Tartans fired a team score of 300, finishing six strokes ahead of second place Saint Vincent.
A year ago senior
Howard Smith (Las Vegas, Nev./The Meadows School) and sophomore
Chris Lee (Los Angeles, Calf./Windward) tied for third place, this season the two improved ending the round tied for second. Smith and Lee each shot an even par round of 72.
Last year’s individual champion, junior
Alex Timmons (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls), fired a five-over 77 for the Cardinal and Gray. Junior
Josh Chen (Woodridge, Conn./Amity) carded a 79 and sophomore
Brett Cannaday (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) rounded out the Tartans scoring with an 84.
There was one individual that entered the invitational for the Tartans, as sophomore
Adam Klein (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) carded an 84.
