Timmons Receives Second UAA Honor

Oct. 8 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the second time in three weeks Carnegie Mellon University junior Alex Timmons (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Golf Athlete of the Week.  This week he claimed the honors for his performance at the 2007 Westminster Fall Invitational hosted at the New Castle Country Club, Monday, October 1.

Timmons was in his prime once again, as he carded his third straight round under par. Timmons claimed individual medalist honors after shooting a two under 70, as Carnegie Mellon finished second as a team out of eleven teams.  This season he is averaging 70.8 in four rounds.

The Tartans will hit the links Sunday and Monday, October 14-15, as they compete in the 2007 ECAC Southwest Championships at Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park, Pa.
