Golf Places Second at Home Invite

Apr. 10 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team hosted their Annual Invitational Thursday, April 10 at the Longue Vue Club. The Tartans placed second with a team score of 308, ten strokes behind St. Vincent College who shot a team round of 298 to win the Invitational.
Pacing the Tartans individually was senior
Howard Smith (Las Vegas, Nev./The Meadows School) and junior
Joshua Chen (Woodridge, Conn./Amity) who both fired a four over par 74. Junior
Alex Timmons (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) and sophomore
Chris Lee (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) both shot an 80, as sophomore
Brett Cannaday (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) rounded out the Tartans scoring with an 86.
There were four individuals that entered the invitational for the Tartans. Senior
Denver Faulk (Latrobe, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) shot an 84, while freshman
Brent Driscoll (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and senior
Blake Darby (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) scored an 84 and 86, respectively. Sophomore
Nick Burkholder (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) carded a 92.
