Reggie and Wisnieski Named Lindy's Football Preseason All-America
July 9 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Two Carnegie Mellon University football players found a spot on the 2007 Division III Lindy’s Preseason All-America Team, senior defensive lineman
Michael Reggie (Columbus, Ohio/St. Charles Prep) and junior tight end
Derek Wisnieski (Indiana, Pa.).
Reggie was the nose guard on a defense that finished sixth in the nation in points allowed last season. The 6-2, 250 lb. linemen finished with 11.5 tackles for a loss including 4.5 sacks for 29 yards.
Wisnieski finished the 2006 campaign with 259 receiving yards on 13 receptions. He totaled three touchdowns including two against Franklin & Marshall when he compiled 131 yards and a touchdown of 77 yards.
Both Reggie and Wisnieski were named first team All-UAA and second team all-region a year ago.
Carnegie Mellon will open the 2007 season at the University of Rochester on Saturday, September 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
