Mar. 13 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University Head Football Coach Rich Lackner has announced the hiring of Jason Makrinos to round out his staff for the upcoming 2008 season. Makrinos will serve as a full-time assistant and mentor the defensive backs.

Prior to Kent State, he coached for two years at Slippery Rock University, where he coached linebackers and defensive backs. Makrinos started his coaching career at Westminster, his alma mater, in 2004, as he served as a student assistant and worked with the defensive line as well as helped in the recruiting process.

Makrinos graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2005 and completed a master's degree in sports management from Slippery Rock University in 2007.
