Hauffe Takes Defensive Athlete of the Week Honors
Sept. 10 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior defensive lineman
Richard Hauffe (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Athlete of the Week following his performance in the Tartans 16-6 victory over Grove City on Saturday, September 8. Hauffe is the second defensive player for the Tartans to get the award this year.
The 6-2, 245 pound lineman starred on a defense that had seven sacks and held the Wolverine running game to five yards. He accounted for 3.5 of the Tartans sacks and recorded a career-high nine tackles including five for a loss of 29 yards.
Hauffe and the #22 Tartans face Hobart College next when they travel to Geneva, N.Y., on Saturday, September 15 for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
