Gimson Honored by UAA
Nov. 13 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior running back
Robert Gimson (Palm Beach Gardens., Fla./The Benjamin School) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Offensive Athlete of the Week following his performance in the Tartans 39-21 win over Washington & Lee University on Saturday.
Gimson ran for a game-high 161 yards on 27 carries and scored a career-high three touchdowns to help lead the Tartans. Gimson, who surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the second straight season on his final carry of the game, a 35-yard touchdown run, headed a backfield that ran for 315 yards.
The senior moved into third place on the school's all-time rushing list passing Scott Barnyak (1987-90). Gimson now has 2,643 yards for his career.
