Adams Named UAA Athlete of the Week
Oct. 30 – (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the third time this season Carnegie Mellon University senior punter
Matt Adams (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Special Teams Athlete of the Week. Adams was honored following his performance in the Tartans 18-13 victory over UAA foe Washington University in St. Louis this past Saturday.
Adams averaged 40.0 yards on five punts as the Tartans kept their hopes for a share of the UAA title alive with the victory over Washington. Adams placed two punts inside the Bears’ 20-yard line, with the first bouncing out of bounds at the two-yard line to set up a Carnegie Mellon safety on the next play.
The senior has landed 15 punts inside the 20-yard line and is averaging 38.9 yards per punt this season.
