Sivek, Scholl Earn Second UAA Nod; Offensive Line Honored Again
Nov. 7 - (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Both Travis Sivek (Traverse City, Mich./St. Francis) and Jonathan Scholl (Coraopolis, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) earned their second University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honor on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The pair was rewarded for their efforts in the Tartans 44-6 win over Bethany to close out their home season.
Sivek finished the game with four rushing touchdowns, tying a career-high, and 139 yards. His 139 yards gave him 1,000 for the season, making him the second ever to reach 1,000 yards for a single season. The junior currently sits 169 yards back from tying Mike Campie ('96-'99) for the career honor with 2,910 yards.
Scholl earned Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for making seven tackles. He had three solo tackles to go with four assisted and also had one pass breakup. Scholl and the defense held the explosive Bethany air attack to just one score, lowering their season points against average to 8.3 a game.
Also garnering honors for the week was the offensive line of freshman Brian Freeman (Independence, Ohio/Padua Franciscan), senior J.P. White (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon), junior Anthony Ciotti (Selinsgrove, Pa.), junior Jameson O'Donnell (Marianna, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) and junior Andrew Althouse (Wyomissing, Pa.). The line earned D3football.com Team of the Week for the second time this year. Including Sivek's 139 yards, the line paved the way for 370 yards rushing and 448 total yards while allowing just one tackle for a loss (two yards).
