Football’s Offensive Line Honored by D3football.com

Oct. 4 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – For the fourth straight game, the Carnegie Mellon offense has gained over 400 yards thanks in part to the offensive line. D3football.com honored the line for their efforts following the team's victory over Colorado College by naming them to the week five Team of the Week.

The starting line of Brian Freeman (Independence, Ohio/Padua Franciscan), Kurtis Meyer (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson), Anthony Ciotti (Selinsgrove, Pa.), Jameson O’Donnell (Marianna, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) and Andrew Althouse (Wyomissing, Pa.) paved the way for 427 yards of offense and seven touchdowns Saturday, September 30. In the 50-26 win over Colorado, eight rushers combined for 383 yards on the ground including two who rushed for more than 100 yards. It was the second time this year two backs rushed for over 100 yards in the same game.

These five guys with the addition of J.P. White (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon), who missed his first start of the season due to injury, have been instrumental in the Tartans' offensive success this year. In addition to creating 15 rushing touchdowns and an average of 299.6 rush yards per game, the line has protected senior quarterback Kevin Mulkern (Springfield, Pa.), who has a 63.5% completion rate and five of the Tartans' seven passing TDs.
