Bodnar Named UAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Sept. 12 - (Rochester, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon outside linebacker Jonathan Bodnar (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes) was awarded University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Defensive Player of the Week on September 12, 2006. Bodnar earned the honor following his performance in the Tartans' 28-0 win over Grove City College on Saturday, September 9.

Bodnar registered a team-high ten tackles, including four solo and one for lost yardage. With 4:15 to go in the third quarter he forced a Wolverine fumble at the goal line to help solidify the Tartan shutout. Bodnar, along with the rest of the defense held Grove City to 157 yards of offense.

Bodnar shares this week's UAA award with Case Western's Tom Brew, who helped the Spartans defeat Denison University 27-14.
