Lewis Earns D3football.com All-Region
Dec. 9 - (STERLING, Va.) - Carnegie Mellon University junior defensive back Aaron Lewis (Englewood, Ohio/Northmont) was named to the D3football.com 2005 All-South Region First Team, as announced late Thursday evening, December 8.
Lewis earned First Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) honors for the third straight year with a league-leading 115 (61 solo) tackles. He also ranked second in the UAA with six interceptions. Lewis recorded double-digit tackles six times, including a career-high 22 against Thiel College in the season finale.
Lewis, 6-0, 210, was also named UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week four times during the 2005 season and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week twice.
The teams, selected in balloting by South Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 163 nominations by Division III member schools. It is the first time this team has been chosen by D3football.com. A total of 75 players were chosen. D3football.com is in its seventh season covering Division III football on the Internet.
