Sivek and Greenstein Named UAA Athletes of the Week

Nov. 1 - (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) Carnegie Mellon University football team had two players recognized by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as Athletes of the Week for their performance on Saturday, October 29.

Sophomore running back Travis Sivek (Traverse City, MI/St. Francis) was named UAA Offensive Athlete of the Week, and junior place kicker Nathaniel Greenstein (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./Dobbs Ferry) was named UAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week for their performances in a 23-20 victory against Case Western Reserve University.

Sivek rushed for a career high 196 yards on 31 carries and two touchdowns Saturday. His second score came with 1:27 left in the game to tie the score at 20-20. His performance marked the fourth time this season and seventh for his career that Sivek ran for over 100 yards in a game. This moves him to seventh place on the all-time rushing list at Carnegie Mellon with 1,549 yards. He leads the UAA with 11 touchdowns and 793 yards rushing (99.1 yards per game avg.).

Greenstein converted three field goals, including a career long 41-yard attempt coming with no time left on the clock, to lead the Tartans to a 23-20 victory over Case Western Reserve. His second field goal came as time expired in the first half to tie the game at 13-13. Greenstein is 7-for-11 on field goals this year and has made 20 of 21 extra point attempts.
