Gonzalez Honored by D3hoops.com

Feb. 27 – (PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior Greg Gonzalez (Southlake, Texas/Carroll) was honored by D3hoops.com on their Team of the Week  for his performance in leading Carnegie Mellon to a 2-0 record last week.  The Tartans had a 78-70 victory over Emory University Friday before defeating Case Western Reserve Sunday 70-66.

Gonzalez collected back-to-back double-doubles, while making it four straight, in averaging 17.5 points, 17.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks for the week, and made all 10 of his free throw attempts.

In the Tartans win over Case Western Reserve he hauled in a career-high 21 rebounds and cashed in with 12 points with four assists.  Against Emory Gonzalez posted game-highs of 23 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks, and three steals.  His three steals ties a career-best.

With his two double-doubles the fifth year senior now has ten for the season.
