Einwag Awarded Second Straight ECAC Player of the Week

Jan. 10 - (CENTERVILLE, Mass.) – For the second straight week Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Ryan Einwag (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. He was awarded the honor for leading the Tartans to a 3-0 record including back-to-back victories over nationally ranked opponents.

The Tartans opened the week with a 91-65 win at Oberlin College where Einwag shot 86% from the field and recorded 16 points and four assists in 23 minutes of action. He followed that performance by helping the Tartans to a 68-64 victory over #20 New York University and a 75-68 victory over #23 Brandeis University. Against NYU he tallied 14 points and had a game-high 18 in the win over Brandeis. Einwag has scored in double figures in 11 of the Tartans 12 contests this season including four games of scoring 20 or more.

Carnegie Mellon will continue play, Monday, January 15, as they step out of association play and travel to Lycoming College for a 7:00 p.m. tip.
