Carnegie Mellon’s Dunn to Play in Australia
(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Bary Dunn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice), a 2006 graduate of Carnegie Mellon and a member of the 2006 University Athletic Association Championship men’s basketball team, has been named to the United States Inaugural Maccabi Australia International Games Men’s Basketball Team. The team will compete in Sydney, Australia, June 27 – July 11.
The U.S. Men’s Basketball Team will be one of 15 United States sports teams that will compete at the Olympic-style event. Over 750 athletes representing 15 countries will take part in the Maccabi Australia International Games.
The 6-6 guard/forward averaged 6.9 points and 4.4 rebounds on the senior-laden team of 2006 that finished 20-6 and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1977. Dunn, who was the ever important sixth man, played 16.9 minutes a game and earned MVP honors following the Carnegie Mellon Tournament, in which he averaged 17 points and six rebounds with a .714 shooting percentage.
In addition to Dunn, the members of the two USA Men’s Basketball Teams include: David Gale (Loyola University-Chicago), Scott Greenman (Princeton), Jeffrey Horowitz (UNC Wilmington), Todd Golden (St. Mary’s College), Ross Condon (Villanova), Alexander Pribble (California), Ben Jacobson (East Middle Tennessee State), Isaac Rosefelt (St. Thomas), Seth Hauben (Rochester), Chase Kosterlitz (Eckerd), Michael Schmidt (Grinnell), Jacon Shechtman (Skidmore), Andrew Lefkowitz (Skidmore), and Benjamin Rudin (Middlebury).
