Art Faculty and Alumni Exhibit in 2011 Pittsburgh Biennial
We couldn't help but notice and feel proud that a number of CMU faculty and alumni were in the galleries. On view through October 23, we recommend you make the rounds if you haven't already.
The Pittsburgh Biennial rolled out a new format for 2011, featuring multiple locations and exhibitions co-curated by Pittsburgh Center for the Arts/Pittsburgh Filmmakers (curators: Adam Welch), The Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon University (curator: Astria Suparak), Carnegie Museum of Art (Dan Byers) and The Andy Warhol Museum (Eric Shiner). We couldn't help but notice and feel proud that a number of CMU faculty and alumni were in the galleries. On view through October 23, we recommend you make the rounds if you haven't already.
A signature exhibition for Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts since 1994, the Biennial expanded in location as well as curatorial scope, reflecting each curator and institution’s engagement with artists working in Pittsburgh.
