Call for Memorial Design

Deadline: 15 June

McDonogh School in Maryland seeks to commission an artist to design an original, outdoor, site-specific installation that will acknowledge the African American slaves of the school’s founder. The intent of the memorial is to “honor those who contributed to the foundations of our school but who are not yet recognized.” An Art Selection Committee, composed of art professionals, school representatives, and a landscape architect, will oversee the selection process to determine the finalists and the monument artist.

For further information and questions, please contact Oletha DeVane.

Deadline is June 15, 2012.
