Free screening of KINYARWANDA

Saturday, 23 April, 7:00pm, McConomy Auditorium

Carnegie Mellon University presents, a free screening of KINYARWANDA, The 2011 Sundance Film Festival World Cinema Winner of the Dramatic Audience Award.

Q & A session follows with Director Alrick Brown and Producer Tommy Oliver (HSS/Tepper ‘06).

During the 1994 Rwandan genocide, when neighbors killed neighbors and friends betrayed friends, some crossed lines of hatred to protect each other. KINYARWANDA interweaves six different tales that together form
one grand narrative that provides the most complex and real depiction yet presented of human resilience and life during the genocide. With an amalgamation of characters, we pay homage to many, using the voices of
a few.

Sponsored by College of Fine Arts, Office of Student Affairs, SPIRIT, Young African Leaders Alliance and the African/African-American Studies Minor
