Research Fellow (High Density Threshold Studies)

The Centre for Sustainable Asian Cities

The Centre for Sustainable Asian Cities has an opening for a Research Fellow for the "High Density Threshold Studies" project.  The successful candidate should possess the following qualities:

Basic Requirements

  • A PhD degree in relevant areas (building science, architecture, urban planning, environmental engineering etc)
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Research experience as evidenced by research publications, reports or dissertation scores 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a collaborative environment

Looking for candidates who can support and supervise research in simulating environmental performance using various computer software.

Candidates with the following experience are preferred:

  • Experience in urban environmental analysis (daylight, insolation, air ventilation, and visual perception)
  • Experience in using at least one of the following computer software: 
    • Radiance, Rhino, Houdini, EnergyPlus (or other building energy simulation software), Fluent (or other CFD software)
Other preferred experience includes:
  • Experience in conducting household surveys
  • Experience in research on tropical/high-density cities

Applicants with lesser academic qualifications and experience may be considered for a Research Assistant position.
