Ecologies of Scale: Investigating Sustainable Urbanism in Qatar

Architecture Exhibit @ CMUQ

Assistant Teaching Professors Rami el Samahy and Kelly Hutzell, along with Research Assistants Kristina Ricco (BArch 09) and Spencer Gregson (BArch 10), have staged an exhibit titled "Ecologies of Scale: Investigating Sustainable Urbanism in Qatar."

A formal reception for local design professionals was held on February 15, and has already yielded interest in terms of publishing and projects.

The exhibit features the work-to-date of three of their research projects which have been funded by Carnegie Mellon Qatar and the Qatar Foundation. It also features student architecture design projects from two CMUQ Spring 2010 classes: Architecture for Non-Majors and the Systems Integration fourth-year design studio.

The exhibit also included models and a computer demonstration of the 4dDoha project.

The exhibit will be in place until February 28. During that time, they have appointments to show it to many other folks and have it professionally photographed.
