Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh Awards and Reception

Video Contest Deadline 12 February

Excitement is building for YPA's Preserve Pittsburgh Summit and Preservation Awards Reception, April 10th!  YPA will be featuring four historic sites in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Hazelwood.  Our keynote speaker is Kate Burns Ottavino, from Brooklyn High School of the Arts, who started the nation's first high school preservation program.  Then, teams will square off in a "So You Think You Can Preserve" contest to develop the best recommendations for the historic sites they toured in the morning.

That evening, we will be honoring the winners of our Preservation Video Contest, presented by Clearview Federal Credit Union and presenting the Michael Eversmeyer Promise Award, sponsored by First Commonwealth Bank, to an emerging preservation leader.  The Summit is a great way to connect with fellow preservationists, it includes great food & refreshments, and it's affordable!

Students are FREE!  Registration information is available on YPA's website [Link]

YPA's Preservation Video Contest deadline is 12 February.  Please help us by encouraging students to consider applying.  We have $500 to give away!  Last year's winners included a team of 8th graders, a high school student, a college student, and a film student.
