Summer Internship Deadline 08 February
Heritage Documentation Programs seeks applications from qualified individuals for summer employment documenting historic sites and structures of architectural, landscape and technological significance throughout the country. Duties involve on-site field work and preparation of measured and interpretive drawings and written historical reports for the HABS/HAER/HALS Collections at the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress. Projects last 12 weeks, beginning in late May or early June. The application deadline is 8 February 2010.
Note that the application procedure has changed from that of previous years. Applicants should take care to follow the new application instructions closely. Incomplete and/or improperly submitted applications will not receive consideration.
Applicants who have worked for HDP during the past five years (2005-09) , and who are not seeking an increase in their previous salary level, need only submit a cover letter and updated resume directly to the HDP office. All other applicants, including previous HDP employees who are seeking an increase in salary level, must submit a new and complete application package.
Positions are open only to United States citizens. Foreign citizens seeking summer employment may wish to contact the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).
