Library Resources

Welcome to the new academic year. Please be aware that Martin Aurand, Head, Arts Library and Sepecial Collections is available to assist and collaborate with students and faculty in the School of Architecture around research projects and library use.

Please note the following new and/or improved resources:

E-books are available on the De Gruyter platform for many titles published by Birkhäuser and DETAIL since 2002. These will appear in search results when using Cameo [link], Carnegie Mellon’s library catalog. Birkhäuser has been arguably the most important publisher of architectural books over the last decade. DETAIL is a more tightly focused but important publisher of high-quality architectural books. We also own print copies of many of these titles in the library collection. [link] , which previously provided access to International (ICC) building codes and to related standards from ASHRAE, ASTM, NFPA, etc., now also provides online access to USGBC LEED Reference Guides and Study Guides, and four of Wiley’s core Graphic Standards titles. Please remember to logoff after your session since we only offer access for two simultaneous users!

Please contact Martin if you have problems with either of these products as they have been temperamental at times.

As always, access to library information and to numerous information resources is presented here:

Information about the Arts Library (fourth floor Hunt Library) is found here:
