SoArch Students Win AIAS/AARP Student Design Competition
"Aging In Place - Kitchens"
Congratulations to School of Architecture third-year student's Tony Zhang, Daniel Gehr and Richard May who were named as the 2012 AIAS/AARP Student Design Compeition Winners. Erica Cochran served as their advisor.
The Aging In Place competition asks the designer(s) to investigate how a kitchen can improve the quality of life and age in place with its user. Utilizing universal design principles, students will investigate how a fully planned kitchen can modify a space into a safe, comfortable, and livable environment for all generations. Total prize money is $14,125 including $6,000 for the first place winning design.
