Designing Effective PowerPoint Presentations

19 November, 4:30-6:00, Baker Hall 235A

On November 19, 2012, the GCC will host its first ever workshop on Designing Effective PowerPoint Presentations from 4:30-6:00 Baker Hall 235A. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

This workshop will present recent research on effective PowerPoint presentation slide design. Participants will learn how to create presentations that will increase audience comprehension and recall. We will discuss how to effectively balance text and visual elements on slides and work together on revising poorly designed slides.

This workshop will be particularly valuable to non-native English speakers, those who are nervous giving presentations, or anyone who is concerned about whether their audience understands the purpose and content of their oral presentations. Graduate and undergraduate students are welcome; faculty are invited to attend as space permits.

Light refreshments will be provided.

To reserve your space for the workshop, email the GCC with a subject heading of "Nov 19 workshop."
