2011 Young Architects Studio Competition

Call for Entries!

AIA Pittsburgh's Design Pittsburgh Committee is excited to announce the Young Architects Studio Competition (YASC), as part of Design Pittsburgh 2011. The competition is titled, A Stair to Where? - inspired by our City, which is filled with changes in elevation that become obstacles when moving from one place to the next. As modes of transportation in our urban environments expand, the necessity for safe pedestrian pathways increases. This competition poses the challenge of designing an imaginative stair in the City of Pittsburgh. The designer can chose a specific location, or design a prototype for a variety of locations around the city. The submissions will be judged anonymously by the Design Pittsburgh Jury and awards will be given to honor successful designs.
