The purpose of "Creative Urbanism" is to educate participants about creative enterprise/industry as a driver of economic growth by engaging Heinz College alumni who are either working in the field or contributing to the body of knowledge on this topic.

Three Heinz alumni will serve as panelists in the discussion which will be moderated by Greg Lagana.

  • Elizabeth Currid-Halkett, MSPPM '02 and Assistant Professor at University of Southern California's School of Policy, Planning and Development
  • Steven Pedigo, MSPPM '05 and Director of Research and Communities at the Creative Class Group
  • Matt Hannigan, MSPPM '02 and Co-Founder & Deputy Director of the Sprout Fund

Creative Urbanism coincides with the Gallery Crawl, which takes place downtown from 5:30-9:00PM that evening.

The panel is designed to attract students from both public policy and arts management tracks at Heinz, in addition to students from the CFA/School of Architecture.  Lunch will also be served.
