Prior to founding AmericaSpeaks, Carolyn served as Consultant to the White House Chief of Staff from November 1993 through June 1994. She served as Deputy Project Director for Management of the National Performance Review, Vice President Al Gore’s reinventing government task force. Carolyn was Chief of Staff to Ohio Governor Richard F. Celeste. She also led her own successful organizational development and management consulting firm for 14 years. Carolyn earned a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Case Western University.
Carolyn’s experiences engaging people and bringing large-scale citizen participation to local and regional planning and governance efforts will speak directly to Pittsburghers’ passion for our communities. Her lecture will help us better understand how to engage and empower our residents and stakeholders to take part in important decisions that will shape the city’s future. “When citizens and residents are once again the center of our community life, people and leaders from all sector will collaborate to face and solve our community’s most pressing issues,” says Carolyn.
