Carmalt Academy of Science and Technology Seeking Student Volunteers

Carmalt Academy of Science and Technology, a K-8 Pittsburgh Public School, needs volunteers to help with a school-wide project to design neighborhoods.  Donate your time to work with students in their art classroom to make architectural models and drawings to represent the students’ ideas for their neighborhoods.

If you are a Carnegie Mellon or Pitt student, please contact Kelly Lyons  to reserve transportation to the school.  Transportation will be provided on
  • Monday, November 29
  • Wednesday, December 1
  • Thursday, December 3
  • Friday, December 4
Bus will pick up students at PITT (location TBD) at 10 a.m. then pick up students at Carnegie Mellon (in front of Margaret Morrison) at 10:15 a.m.  Bus will return to campuses by 12:30 p.m.  Please email to reserve a space on the bus.

Professionals, students, and those with architectural model making experience are encouraged to volunteer.

Please contact Kate Shimko, the art teacher at Carmalt, to arrange a time to work with the students.
