Element 3: Slide Interior

Interior Slide View
Element 4: Basin
View of zero depth basin and slide exit. A child slides down as a supervisor monitors from the fiberglass seat.
Element 5: Exit Stair
Child walking down exit stairs from basin. PURIFLUME Deployment, June 22, 2012
Element 6: Spray Heads and Text

View of educational graphics (posing problems and providing tips on water conservation) and sprayheads. Educational side
Element 7: Systems

View of systems in visual void (generated to expose the systems at work to audience)
Element 8: Lateral Cladding and Flexible Tubing

Flexible tubing (passive solar heating, water circulation) overlaid on to lateral cladding pieces (additional structural rigidity)
Element 9: PV Panels

Photovoltaic cells mounted over the hitch to provide passive solar energy generation
Element 10: Underneath Trailer

View under the trailer showing access restricting skirt (far left and right) as well as structural and mechanical componenets under trailer
Element 11: Night Light Variation
Purifulme lighting color variation. The PURIFLUME's lighting system is configured to allow for multiple color schemes that vary over time. PURIFLUME deployment, June 21, 2012
Overall Plan (click image to enlarge)
The curvilinear tubing is overlaid on to the orthogonal structural matrix, fibergalss components are formed over the ribs and two photovoltaic cells are nested into the rib matrix over the hitch.
Plan Section (click image to enlarge)
5 foot section cut reveals various components embedded into the The PURIFLUME's structure. From left to right we see the systems control cabinet, the zero depth fiberglass drainage basin with the slide exit portion over the drain and adjacent exit stair, the untreated and treated water storage cisterns are shown in their relationship to each other and the basin.
Isolation Plan (click image to enlarge)
TRAILER PLAN. This plan reveals the 2x4 structural base attached to the steel trailer with stainless steel selftapping screws.
Reflected Plan (click image to enlarge)
REFLECTED UNDERCARRIAGE PLAN. This plan reveals the complex systems and connections from below the trailer. The access restricting skirt lines the longitudinal edges, additional structural connections line the inner steel joists as electrical and water lines run parrallel to the joists. The plumbing line from the basin drain is seen as it runs below the basin, across, and up to the untreated cistern.
Rib Matrix Plan (click image to enlarge)
RIB MATRIX PLAN. This plan shows the orthogonal rib matrix and the labeling scheme utilized in fabrication and assembly.
Elevation 1: Hitch and Exit (click image to enlarge)
Elevations of the hitch and exit sides. The hitch elevation shows the relationship of the sprayheads, the rib structure, and the exit stair along with the flexible tubing's relationship to the cladding. The exit side elevation shows the relationship of hitch, exit stair, educational track, systems visual void with and the entrance stair.
Elevation 2: Back and Education Side (click image to enlarge)
Elevations of the entrance and education side. The entrance elevation shows the relationship of exit stairs to entrance stairs and the sprayheads. The educational side elevation shows the sprayhead elements, a void exposing the pump sending water from the treated cistern up to the slide, and another void exposing the untreated cistern.
Longitudinal Section 1 (click image to enlarge)
LONGITUDINAL SECTION 1 cutting (from right to left) through the untreated cistern which shows the input (higher) and output (lower) lines, the chlorinator, a series of plumbing lines connecting water equipment, a section through the slide, the basin, the drain, the control cabinet, the PV cells and the transverse ribs.
Longitudinal Section 2 (click image to enlarge)
LONGITUDINAL SECTION 2 (from right to left) through the entrance stair, the slide entrance, the middle slide footing, the vertical plumbing line from drain to untreated cistern, the fiberglass seat, the control cabinet, and photovoltaic cells.
Longitudinal Section 3 (click image to enlarge)
LONGITUDINAL SECTION 3 (from right to left) through the entrance stair, the slide entrance, pump no. 2 which sends water from the treated cistern to the slide, the untreated cistern, and transverse ribs.
