Transfer Applicants-School of Architecture - Carnegie Mellon University

Transfer admission to the School of Architecture is limited. Enrolled transfer students are classified as freshman and will begin in the first year of the five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree program.

TRANSFER APPLICANTS must complete Carnegie Mellon’s transfer admission process through the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Architecture transfer applicants are required to submit additional applicant materials to the School of Architecture that include: submitting to SlideRoom either the architecture Portfolio or Design Project; AND scheduling a Transfer Interview with the School of Architecture.  To review requirements for Transfer admission to the School of Architecture, please visit here


TRANSFER INTERVIEW To schedule the required architecture Transfer Interview, please email Alexis McCune Secosky at by January 1.* In your message, please list your name, telephone number, address, your world time zone, email, and also indicate one of two things:

  • If you are registered for an On-Campus Review to come to campus to conduct your Transfer Interview.  Please indicate what date and time you have registered for your On-Campus Review.
  • Or, if you wish to be contacted to set up a telephone Transfer Interview if you are not coming for an On-Campus Portfolio Review.
