Outstanding University Citizenship
The Andy Award for Outstanding University Citizenship honors those who have made important contributions that benefit the entire university community. Their work has transcended organizational boundaries. They have fostered cooperation and collaboration between the university and its constituents to better serve the campus community. These individuals have committed their time and energy to working with others to improve and enhance Carnegie Mellon as a whole.

John Lanyon, Academic Development

In his role as the peer tutoring coordinator, John is an outstanding member of the Academic Development staff. He works tirelessly for our students and provides a consistent example of dedication and leadership. Additionally, he also serves as the chair of Staff Council's Benefits Committee. In that capacity John has been a tireless advocate for the health and well-being of the staff community. He embodies the spirit of teamwork and dedication for which the Andy Awards were created. Without a doubt, he has had a significant impact on Carnegie Mellon University.

Countless temporary employees have noted what an enjoyable experience they've had while working with the TES team. TES promotes a natural fit between employees and their assignments, striving to find a relationship that is beneficial for the employee, the department and the university. This team works to find the best solution to meet departments' needs, and works to further the careers of all the temporary staff members. Their accessibility and professional and friendly demeanor make them a pleasure to work with.
