Alumni Interest Groups

Alumni Interest Groups (AIGs) are organizations comprised of alumni and friends of Carnegie Mellon who have common interests arising from their University-recognized co-curricular activities or common cultural or professional interests.

Alumni Interest Groups are formed around at least one of the following criteria:

• Former membership in an officially recognized student organization (past or present)
• A shared personal characteristic (such as ethnicity or religion)
• A shared postgraduate professional experience (such as entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors, etc.)

Current Formalized Alumni Interest Groups Include:

• Carnegie Mellon Black Alumni Association (CMBAA): Bill James (IM'78)
• Carnegie Mellon Hispanic Alumni Association: Martha Benson (HNZ'05)
• Kiltie Band Alumni Clan: Susan Cribbs (HS'00, '06) 
• Scotch’n’Soda Alumni: Courtney Kochuba (HS'07)
