Writing the Report

The Advisory Board report is written by the academic and trustee co-chairs based on the observations and recommendations – as reported at the final executive session of the Advisory Board meeting – with the consensus of the Advisory Board members.

Remarks made by a faculty member or student should be conveyed as a general comment and not attributed to an individual. Observations and recommendations about strengths, opportunities, and weaknesses should be recorded, and discussed during the executive session(s), as they will become the core part of the report.

The academic co-chair, assisted by the trustee co-chair, will draft the report. The draft report will be sent by the academic co-chair to the Advisory Board members for additional comments, edits, and consensus approval. The goal is to have the final report sent to the president and provost within six weeks after the Advisory Board visit. Typically, the final report is 5-10 pages in length.

The Office of the Provost is available to assist with administrative details of drafting the report at the academic co-chair's request.
