Selection of Members

Each Advisory Board is composed of external members in the field and two members of the Board of Trustees, appointed by the president.

Approximately one year before the scheduled Advisory Board visit, the dean submits a list of proposed external members to the president and provost. This list is composed of, but not limited to, prominent leaders in academia, business, industry, government and the arts. The president reviews and approves the list in consultation with the provost. The goal is to achieve an Advisory Board of distinguished experts in the field, inclusive with respect to gender and minority status.
