Carnegie Mellon Honorary Degree Recommendation Form (Confidential)

By clicking on the "submit" button below, this form will be forwarded to University Professor Emeritus Guy Berry, head of the Honorary Degree Selection Committee, at gcberry@andrew.cmu.edu. Nominations are due no later than October 31.

Please use your tab key or click in the next field to advance from field to field. Hitting the return or enter key will submit your nomination prematurely.

The following criteria are used to select honorary degree candidates:

  1. Nominees should be distinguished individuals who have reached preeminent levels of distinction in their fields and made extraordinary contributions to society.

  2. Nominees should represent prominent fields and values of Carnegie Mellon, particularly those that support the arts, humanities, and science and technology.

  3. Nominees should have connections to the university (i.e. alumni, former faculty, friends or collaborators) and represent diversity and the university culture.

Please provide as much information as possible. You may forward more detailed information via email to Professor Berry, if necessary. A curriculum vitae, resume or biographical sketch would be appreciated, but is not necessary.
