Acrylic Dispersions Shrinkage Stress Synthetic Resin Paints Gas Sensors

Acrylic dispersion media:  understanding long-term performance of acrylic dispersions when used as coatings on modern art objects.

Shrinkage Stress:  correlating the internal stress of solution cast films of thermoplastic polymers (materials studied are commonly used for adhesives, consolidants, and/or coatings) with pigment concentration, solvent type and polymer type.

Solvent-based Synthetic Resin Paints:  evaluating the effect of white pigment and extenders on the photochemical degradation of an acrylic polymer used as a vehicle for solvent-based paints.

Gas Sensors: developing chemical sensors for monitoring the off-gassing of artifacts and museum storage materials as a non invasive probe for early onset of oxidation in polymers or detecting potentially damaging materials for storage of metal artifacts.
